School Race Series

Check out our poster here: https://kidsrunwild.ca/school-race-flyer

This series is intended for teams of two and is open to Junior & Senior High students in all school divisions.

The events take place on four consecutive Saturday afternoons starting April 27th, ending May 18th, 2019.  Each race will start at 2:00PM, with a 75 min. maximum time limit for each event.  Each race in this series takes place in either Terwillegar Park or Gold Bar Park.

Each week of this series showcases a different type of event focused on the sport of orienteering.  Our events are designed to build on the participants’ previous orienteering knowledge.  This fun series is intended to increase the participants’ confidence with orienteering maps and navigation.

The first event of this series is designed to ease participants into this race series.  The following events will be progressively more challenging.  To be successful, participants will need to rely on teamwork & strategy as well as their physical and mental abilities.

This series is suitable for fast runners, slow-moving hikers and everyone in-between looking for a physical and mental challenge.  Unlike other racing events, it’s not necessarily the people who run the fastest that win orienteering events!

Team members can be changed around each week.  To allow for that flexibility, we have designed the scoring system based on individual participants’ points, rather than team points.

Pricing:  $45 for School Membership – includes two participants for the series.  Each additional participant is $20 for the series ($5 per race).
